Over 8 feet of open crevasse, climbing partner Gerry searches for E. H. Pearson’s lost tri-pod on Mt. St. Helens. The tri-pod was rescued and remains in the collection. More photographs of this mountain trip here.

St. Helens was known as a dangerous landscape prior to the 1980 explosion.
